Professional Coaching
Professional coaching is governed by the International Coaching Federation (“ICF”), which defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.
Coaching involves collaborating in honest, challenging, and flexible conversations that promote forward movement owned and directed by the client.
Coaching is confidential, except as required by law or as otherwise agreed between the client, the coach, and, if applicable, the sponsor.
As an ICF-credentialed coach, I abide by the ICF Code of Ethics.
Fit between the client and coach is essential for an effective coaching relationship. One of the ICF’s Core Competencies for coaches is partnering with the client to determine client-coach compatibility.
Coaching is not psychotherapy, training, mentoring, managing, or instructing.
